MALESTORM is the first male pageant in the Northeast part of India, which started way back in 1999, when there was not really enough scope for male models in this part of the country.  It was a time when the fashion and modeling world of Northeast was ruled primarily by women. Not that, it isn’t now, but MALESTORM has definitely brought a significant change in the way things are perceived for male models in this region.

Northeast India has grown tremendously in the field of fashion in the last eighteen years. Be it beauty pageants or national level fashion weeks, renowned models and designers from Northeast India have gone beyond their limits and have time and again proven their worth at every new step and of course, at every big platform they were a part of. Male pageants are a growing phenomenon worldwide, and other countries that have fared well include Germany, India, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Uruguay and Brazil.

But while we get to see several beauty pageants for women in this region, both single and married, where they get to groom themselves, when it comes to men, the only popular name that comes to one’s mind is MALESTORM. Malestorm has never compromised when it comes to grooming as it believe it’s not just the winner in the Main event but everybody should become winners in whatever they do in life later.

The growing attention to male beauty extends to nonmodels as well, and appears to be a growing industry in India. MALESTORM is organized by Kreative People, an event management group, established in the year 1999, by  one of the most respected fashion designers and choreographers of Northeast India, Prasantt Ghosh. This group was formed with the objective of contributing vastly to the fashion and cultural scene of Northeast, by holding regular fashion shows, beauty pageants, seminars, producing relevant documentary films and so on and so forth. This pageant which changed countless lives and made leading Models and Actors of this region.

MALESTORM was one of the first initiatives of this group and it has indeed proven to be a huge success in the sense that it has largely achieved what it set out to in the first place. With MALESTORM, for the first time, the aspiring male models got the opportunity to showcase their potential on a big stage.Get ready to get launched in the industry, get ready to experience the best grooming sessions with one of the renowned faces of the industry. The various training sessions that they go through, as a part of the contest, helps them in grooming themselves, in terms of their looks, body, confidence and personality which is not only beneficial for this particular contest, but if we see the larger picture, it helps them in life as well! The best examples of some male models, who have benefitted enormously from this pageant are Rishi kaushik – Mr India Finalist 2002, Suvam Das –MR model of the world, Thailand 2019, Debojit Bhattacharya, who went to win the RU-BA-RU Mr. India Grand International later represented India in Philippines , 2017 and Sanju Ray, who was the winner of RU-BA-RU Mr. India World Tourism also represented India in Philippines, 2016, ZulfiSaikh won Mr India  2018, who will represent in MR World Tourism .

 

“Today Men also worry about their appearance,” Prasantt Ghosh said, adding that the obsession with looks “no longer has a gender.”Plastic surgery for men also has become more common, with men seeking everything from nose jobs to liposuction. The spa offers haircuts, facials, waxing and anti-stress massages. I once dedicated my  classes solely to converting little girls into beauty queens, but today there are plenty of male students too.

MALESTORM is organized every alternate year.  A total of 30 candidates get selected from the lot who came from every nook and corner of  India for the auditions and they would be competing for the main title in the year every season. Male storm guarantees to bring out the best version of you. It is not only the oldest, but one of the best pageants with the longest grooming sessions in the country. That's what separates it from the rest.
